Mgo-c
bricks are made from dead burnt magnesia (or electro fused magnesia),
carbon material (mainly perfectly crystallized graphite) and resin
binder, by proportioning and pressing. Application under high temperature
of the bricks can form carbon skeleton bonding. Because Mgo and
C do not have mutual solution, good refractory properties of original
components are kept. In addition carbon has good thermal conductivity
and low thermal expansion coefficient and elastic coefficient and
can prevent high temperature spalling and slag penetration effectively.
Thus structural spalfing does not occur. The fatal weakness of deteriorated
structural spalling caused by slag penetration into magnesia refractories
can be changed greatly. Carbon is not wetted by slag and has good
resistance to wear. All of these properties of Mgo-C bricks make
then the ideal material for furnace lining, which possesses good
thermal shock resistance, corrosion resistance and spalling resistance.
Mgo-c bricks have wide applications and can be used in key Icocations
of thermal processing equipment such as steelmakig converter, electric
are furnace, ladle, secondary steelmaking furnace and so on. AI2O3-Mgo-C
bricks made from high quality calcined bauxite, electro fused corundum
and electro fused magnesia possess low thermal conductivity coefficeient
and appropriate residual espansion and are good material for iadlestag
line, ladle lower wall, bottom and free zone.
